Need a question

I just hooked up and LCD 1080 we got from someone for our bedroom and its a Samsung 52". Anyway, I hooked up my Bose 3 2 1, the Directv DVR to the TV and now I see like a lazy shadow and the picture is not clear.....It's ok, but not great! It's not a newer LCD, it is like 4 years old but still in great condition.

I have the input going in the DVR, then it goes into the Bose DVD Surround Sound 3 2 1, and then into the tv. I am not using any RCA (red, yellow, white) cables from the DVR to the tv, just to the Bose. Is this a reason why the picture looks like it does?

I don't know what else I can do! I just want to be able to use this FREE tv in my Bedroom!

Thanks
