Need Help hooking up VCR

I just started Direct tv and I have a  regular H20 HD receiver box. I can't get my vcr to work with it. My vcr has 3 sets of red,yellow and black cable outlets on the back.

I can't get any signal hooking these up to the receiver box. The receiver box doesn't have a antenna out jack either to hook into the vcr antenna in. That's how it was hooked up before. I want to record regular shows, not HD.

Person on the phone said to hook up the 3 cables to the receiver box, and to the vcr. Nothing happens

Can anyone tell me how this should hook up? And what is L1 Chan 3 & L2 on the vcr? What should it be set at?  I'm not very video savy. Thank You
