Hi @tabria2005, we are happy to help with programming your Directv remote.
We have a support article on how to set up a Genie remote.
It contains the most common way to program a Genie remote. If these steps don’t work for you, follow the next set of steps to program a remote manually.
Let us know if you have success with programming your remote.

I am having a similar issue. I can change the directtv channels but have no volume control with the Genie RC73. The Onn is not a listed brand name in the onscreen set up and there is no way to actually enter the "TV code" that an authorized AA&T site provided me. I really dislike changing televisions because there it is always an all day, mind numbing process that never accomplishes the entire task without issues! ((palm-face))

Manual code entry
Step 1: Press and hold "MUTE" and "SELECT" at the same time until the green light flashes twice.
Step 2: Type in the 5-digit code for your brand. After entering the first digit, wait 1-2 seconds until the green light flashes, then type in the remaining 4 digits. If the remote supports the code the green light will flash twice.
Step 3: Aim the remote at your device and press "VOL+/-" or "MUTE". If your device does not react, try the next code for your brand until you find the correct one.

directv help does not seem to understand that there are many TVs where the "manufacturer" is not in the various lists of codes. That's because the "manufacturer" does not actually make the TV, it's just a marketing name. For those TVs (like the ONN mentioned) you have to guess at the manufacturer and then try the various codes. Or hope that someone has already foundit and posted.

I’ve been trying forever to program the Directv remote to my Onn tv. Even called customer service and had a technician come out 2 times to help and they couldn’t even figure it out. Just happened to search it up and ran across the comment to use Durabrand and it instantly worked. Thank you for that information.

Try using these codes 5104,0514 or 5028.
If you're still not able to operate your volume control. You might have to use two remotes, one for the volume and one for the other functions.

Using Remote RC66RX for a ONN ROKU 32" TV. Tried all the recommendations here. Have done this for multiple TVs in the past. Would be nice Directv made a learning remote for the codes necessary. Would make it a whole lot easier. Still have to use the TV remote for volume and power
