Need Help, previous post not answered by reading previous replies

In case my previous post subject line sounds like the same old question that has been asked and answered 1,000,000 times before, it is not.

I have searched and read and searched again for an answer so that I would not have to take the time posting my question to this or any other forum.

I have tried every wiring connection that seems logical to me.

I know that there is somebody out there that knows what they are doing when it comes to installing electronics, somebody that can tell me what to connect to what, or maybe if I am supposed to set something w/ the remote.

I know that I don't know anymore, I feel defeated by this HR24-500 HD DVR.

I have been dealing with this for almost four months now.

Direct TV wants to charge me a fee to have someone come back out and look at my problem, I pay them enough already.

Plus, the guy that installed the Direct TV in the first place should have told me that there was an install problem.

So please anybody that might know something, please share your info with me.
