Neighbor satellite/pole on my property
Hi,
Have enjoyed reading responses to other people's posts. Hopefully I can rehash this topic.
When I had the land re-surveyed in 2016 (to find the survey markers - a lot of shifting dune on Lake Michigan) the pole and dish was found to be on my land (this forum isn't letting me upload a pic). I do not know who his provider is, my folks had DirectTV back in the day -- but can't remember seeing a name on this one.
When I notified my neighbor he never got back to me on it. I ignored it but it has been on my to do list. The doing is this year. Both he and I will likely be passing these properties to the next generation and I want no adverse possession law to kick in (15 yrs in MI).
Should I:
1. Ask him to move it? It needs technician to do it correctly, get the sighting to satellite as best as possible? Although he needs to check it out, what is that, a few hundred bucks?
2. I may ask him to sign a lease for the land for 1 dollar per year for the express purpose of this satellite dish and its current single pole only. No additional equipment may be installed. The lease can be cancelled by me with one year notice.
3. I read here that since it is on my property, it is mine? Yeah, but is it really, as relations go? It is pretty sturdy, mounted in sand, right on Lake Michigan -- how deep can this pole go?

1. DIRECTV Doesn't Own the dish so if the person dosent care about it you can remove it yourself and its perfectly legal.
2. The pole tends to not go down to deep, but the pole is in concrete that's been put into the ground

Right you own the dish if it is on your property to do what you want with it, usually it is an 8' pole 3' into the ground. Tech visits are $99 but to relocate a dish is $49.
