DVR/Receiver model is on a label near the access, bottom/rear panel.

I was able to program the remote control, but the problem is that it doesn’t stay programmed. For example, I have to keep reprogramming the remote control every couple days because the volume and off/on button stops working. I wonder if this is related to old equipment.

How do I know if a remote is IR or RF? I have the small, peanut looking remote.

The RC7X uses both IR to control the TV volume and RF to control the Genie/mini.
