New TV now I hear intermittent strange sound

I recently purchased a new Panasonic plasma TV and ever since hooking up the receiver I occasionally hear an unusual noise - almost a metal on metal sound - coming out of the speakers of the TV.  It doesn't occur when I watch DVDs or play video games.

I have it connected with a new HDMI cable.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
