no power sony A4

recently reconnecting old sat receivers to my home system for RF channels on other tvs....have direct tv account with 5 receivers around the house....according to direct tv site , the receivers and access cards are listed and are active.....have tried to reconnect my Sony A4 receivers with active cards installed but have no power....both units with active cards are plugged in to outlet but will not power on with unit power button or remote.....what is going on here?????   thanks for your help??
