No signal strength after Delta blew thru

Hi All,

We got power back on last night (was off ~ 35 hrs) and were looking forward to watching TV, but the box showed "771 searching for signal". I ASSumed it was the dish because of the storm, went up on the roof and checked it and it's pretty darned solid. Checked the wiring and it's OK. I tried wracking on the dish (might have moved 1/4") while the wife watched the sig meter on 101 and it did change. Tried using my 950-2250 detector and promptly lost everything. It was showing improvement, when I called down to the LR, all was gone.  Makes me wonder if there's some other problem I'm overlooking. SWM? LNB? Any other ideas?

BTW, the DTV installer did a superbly crappy job hanging this dish, I can see from the ground the post is not vertical. Don't know how they originally got a signal in the 1st place. Sure gonna make my life a PIA!

Most likely your dish moved. It doesn't take much. You can find YouTube videos showing how to realign the dish using your DVR/Receiver's built-in signal meters. Of course, it's also possible that moisture penetrated an external coax connection or the LNB itself.

Yup, it was slightly off on elevation. About two turns on the knob got 101 @ 100%. I just got frustrated depending on a useless piece of equipment - and my lack of patience with my "helper". All good now!
