No sound after pause
This started happening about 5 weeks ago I'm tired of talking to chatbots I'm tired of going through their tips and their suggestions and I'm tired of talking to somebody in India about it.
I have done everything that they have wanted me to do and it still does not solve the problem the only way it will work is if I unplugged the HDMI cord plug it back in then the sound would come on so I replaced the cord as they suggested it is still doing it does not matter what channel or what show or what DVR show I am watching if I put it on pause and then hit resume I get no sound..
Can somebody please help me so I don't have to go through that robobot chat or trying to explain to somebody that doesn't know English and is only reading off a computer screen

No, we did not lost any recordings. Just FYI, the issue that I reported has resolved; probably as a result of a software update, but not sure.

I did not lose any recording after reset. I have had to do one more reset since I first posted this, so the fix seems to last quite a while.

Thank you! I tried it last night but it didn't really work. On my genie mini in my bedroom I have to hit play like 3 times to get a show to resume but the sound don't seem to be impacted. In the living room the sound is impacted but I don't believe we have to hit play several times.

After one year of struggling with this issue and no help from customer support, I found out that if you go in the main setting of your receiver and disable the Dolby (Select OFF) the problem is solved.

After struggling for months with this issue I found out by pure luck that going in the DIRECT TV receiver MENU>Settings>Audio>Dolby Audio and selecting it to OFF solved the problem.
Then I tried several times to pause the programs recorded and live and it is working fine all the times.
For me the problem is solved.
Sorry to say that Consumer support was useless.
I hope that Direct TV will solve the issue with a software update if possible.

Yes, this has been my workaround for many months now. AT&T please fix this nonsense.

Directv, what is wrong with you guys? The issue is clearly very easily reproducible. Your
Genie Gen 3, Model HR54-200 has a very annoying software bug. Hitting pause long enough for the (also annoying) screensaver to kick in mutes audio on unpause. The workaround is to click the 10sec rewind button but why should I have to do that?

Hit backup arrow, then play button. It starts right away. Mines been getting gradually worse and thought it was my problem until a few others told me it happens to them. One of my friends told me about backup. I hate directv.
