Only receiving some of the channels in our package.
This past week we received some snow that temporarily interrupted our directv service. Where we used to live it was fairly easy to clean snow off of the LNB/dish, not so in our present house as the dish is attached to a chimney on the second story. As the weather warmed up, and the snow melted, service returned but only on some of the channels. There are channels we used to receive, such as the weather channel and headline news, which now show a dark screen and a message "searching for signal": other channels like, USA and history, still work fine. We tried resetting the receiver by unplugging it, waiting 20 seconds, then plugging it back in. This didn't solve the problem. So, where should we look to find the problem?
The receiver is a Hughes Model H1RD-E1.
Signal Strength:
1-8 0 43 0 0 0 51 0 54
9-18 0 43 0 0 0 53 0 54
17-24 0 0 35 0 0 59 37 54
25-32 34 0 41 0 39 47 36 55

how long have you had this system? looking at the signal readings you posted, I would say that you need a dish realignment. Why is the dish on the chimmey and not lower? You maybe in for a no tv winter.

Have had the receiver since 1999 and it has worked fine ever since. The dish is mounted on the chimney to clear some tall trees to the south, at least that seems logical. The dish was already mounted when we moved into this house--not sure who mounted it. When we moved in I just hooked my receiver up to the existing cable and it worked fine until midweek.
