Pair 2021 Amazon Fire TV 4-series to DirectTV remote

I don't think any of the DirecTV Remotes can pair with Amazon Fire devices. What remote model do you have?

Hi - not looking to pair to the Fire apps, looking to simply pair the Direct TV remote to the TV so I can turn on/off and volume control the TV.   Remote is RC64R

That's a pretty old remote model. It likely doesn't have codes for the new Amazon Fire TV. You'll need a better universal remote, like Logitech Harmony. 

gotcha.  Planning on dropping DirectTV and going streaming only in January, so will live with what I have for now. Thanks for your input!!

Let's check the Volume Lock by following the next steps:

1. On the remote, press MENU > Settings & Help > Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote > OK > Change Volume Lock.
2. Choose the desired audio source to control: Use Audio Device or Use TV.
   • Once done, an OSD confirms success.

Just remember that many TV "brands" are just marketing labels, they are not manufacturers. The TV is actually made by someone else. 

I too just bought an Amazon Fire TV. Amazon nor Fire TV were a choice for remote pairing. Used TCL and the first code worked!

Use TCL as your tv brand. It WILL work.
