Pairing My Directv Remote to Hisense TV

Hi @tyler3769, we realize having your remote working properly is a must. Follow these steps to set up your Genie remote to the Hisense TV:

1. Point the remote at your Genie HD DVR, Genie Mini, or Wireless Genie Mini.
2. Press and hold the MUTE and ENTER buttons. Stop when the green light at the top of the remote blinks twice.
3. When the TV screen displays Applying IR/RF setup, you are in RF mode and ready to program the remote.
4. Power on the device you want your remote to control.
5. Press MENU on your remote.
6. Select Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote.
7. Select the device you wish to control with the remote.
8. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete programming.

What is the DIRECTV receiver model? The RC71 may not have the newest Hicense programming attached to it so you may need the newest RC73 remote so that the Hicense pairs properly with the TV. 

well, we were told its the most updated receiver available in our area...?

So, i guess i'll try the rc73 remote and hope that works better.

I would assume DIRECTV was referring to the Gemini model C71KW, which uses a newer remote known as the RC82V. Check the model number and let me know.
