Pairing my RC73 remote with Element TV

I have direct tv with a RC73 remote. I'm trying to pair it with my Element TV model #ELSW3917BF. It worked when the direct tv guy set it up downstairs. But my  samsung tv died upstairs, so we moved it and set it up. I have followed the directions to get it RF paired and set up. There is not an option for my tv model. I selected that option and it gave me 1 of 8 options. Found 1 that I thought worked,  but not all channels have sound. When I get to 1 of those channels and turn it back to a channel that was working they no longer have sound. I have to constantly turn the tv on and off to get sound.
