Paused Show Starts Back at Beginning

Over the past couple of days when we pause a show recorded from the DVR, it goes right back to the beginning of the recording when we hit Play.  I have pushed the reset button on the receiver and it kept happening.  Later I unplugged the receiver and it is still happening.

We had a technician come out on Saturday morning.  He did everything he knew to do and it still does it. He suggested getting another Genie 2, but we have to clear DVR before even considering that. This is happening because of the AT&T ad that pops up after about a minute of being paused. If you hit a button on the remote to dismiss the ad, it will stay paused where you paused it. If you don't hit a button, it goes back to the beginning. But who wants to pause and sit there for a minute waiting on an ad to pop up? Hoping a software update is going to be coming soon to correct this.

It's happening to me, too.  Really really frustrating!  Please fix this, DirecTV!  We pay A LOT of money for DirecTV, so please give us some service.  Thank you!

Same here, pause a recorded show for more than 10sec and when I hit play it starts back at the beginning of the show.

It's a known bug and as far as I know directv is working on it

I don't know about anyone else, but mine doesn't do it anymore. I have been resetting my box daily hoping for a fix and yesterday after the reset, it stays paused where I paused it.  Hopefully it stays because that was terribly annoying!

I performed a system reset this morning. The issue resolved itself. Thank goodness!

I doubt the reset solved it. You probably got an update from directv overnight.
