Paused TV Screensaver won't go away
When I pause the TV and come back and hit play the screensaver won't go away for several minutes so you can only hear your show but only see the screensaver. It says to hit any button to exit screensaver but it doesn't matter what button you hit, it just won't go away.

DVR/Receiver model number?
Try resetting using the red reset button.

I have the SAME problem and it's happening frequently. I have reset the "red button" (the go to solution to all glitches from DTV) however, it still happens again in a few days. The only thing that will clear it is shutting the TV off and on again. It's ridiculous. Have been a customer for 25+ years - have the basic package although many channels have been taken out of basic package - & price still going up. But I digress. I've had it. Every update seems to create another problem or bring old ones back. This problem goes back over a decade. Grrr!

There is no basic package. I have never had this problem. The content providers raise their prices when the contract expires so the bill goes up when DTV has their annual rate hike in January.

To shannon02, FYI, I pay for "Select 145+ channels" @ $71 + tax. This is the what I call the "basic" plan. It is the minimum package that you can purchase. I can't believe that is what you take issue with. I was hoping for suggestions of what others may have tried to resolve the pause freezing issue but instead I am lectured about the description of my monthly package. I am a 71 year old person just looking for a little useful feedback...not a lecture. Sheesh!

There are the family and entertainment packages that are cheaper. If pressing the red reset button doesn't fix the problem then the only fix is replacing it.
