PC NOT ABLE TO ACTIVATE

My iphone found the Nomad and is currently downloading my first program 19 minutes left.

I have tried to activate the nomad on my LAPTOP 2.8GHZ 8GB RAM is telling me im missing a system requirement.  I have net framework installed and I cannot get this to activate.

Any help?

What is the exact PC error message?  Did you let the PC software install the correct .NET 4.0 Framework?

I assume your Nomad is correctly authorized on your account since its working with your iPhone?

Is your PC connected to the same home network as your Nomad?

I have uninstalled reinstalled BUT before launching the application I decided to see if Windows needed any updates.  indeed there is an update to Microsoft .Net Framework..im hoping that will fix it

1. Cannot give you the exact error number as Ive stopped the installation.  Tech support by telephone had no reference to the number as in their own words said it was too new.

2. Yes its correctly authorized.

3. Yes PC is connected to the same home network

Will let you know shortly

That did not help..the error message im getting is 4-2010-1

You are missing one or more system requirements to activate your Nomad.  Please refer to the Quickstart Guide etc for more information

Do you have pop up's blocked on your browser?  The software will check your system as it goes and if you're lacking something it should pop up a reminder and request for permission to install the missing item.

Having exact same issue on my desktop.  Exceed all requirements, and have the 4-2010-1 error as well.  Supposed to be getting a call back tomorrow, will update if I find anything useful out.  If anyone else comes across a solution, please let the rest of us know.

Can you confirm if after .NET framework was installed if the PC restarted? This error points to several possibilities. This is one question that contribute to such an error. The other is if you are actually trying to run Windows on a MAC (vmware).

Try to restart your PC, completely uninstall the nomad app and reinstall the nomad app. Let me know the results.

Yes the .Net framework was installed after the PC restarted. Nope definately not a MAC which is why I specifically wrote PC. Running Windows 7 Professional.  My I.T. guy thought it might be Sony Vaio bloatware.  He tried NUMEROUS things kept getting same error.

I have restarted many times uninstalled and reinstalled MANY MANY TIMES..A few years ago i installed some other DIRECTV software I think i might try uninstal that.

I have it installed on my desktop (which is really no use to me)  I want to take this Laptop on the plane and my Iphone.

Thank you, needed to know if you restarted after the .NET framework was installed and from what you wrote it sounds like you did.

What anti-virus do you have, what router are you using?

One last request tonight, when the iPhone finishes downloading the programs in the queue, please hold the red reset button in for 30 seconds (no less than 30 seconds). Allow the nomad to fully boot up with blue LED and try again.

If this does not resolve the issue, we would like to investigate this further by contacting you directly. Please let us know if this resolves the issue and know we are working to resolve the issue.

Why would the router have anything to do with it? Ive installed it on my iphone and the desktop..its got to have something to do with whats on this Sony Vaio laptop.  Its a Netgear switcher attached to my Fios ACTIONTEC router.

Im running Microsoft Security Essentials and firewall is turned off also running Malwarebytes

Thanks for your help with this really want to get it working

Clingpeach,  The poster bruce_eng is a Directv employee who has tapped into this thread in a specific effort to try and resolve your issue.  This is brand new software and it appears that they don't know what the 4-2010-1 problem is but need your help in working this out.   It would help if you approached your conversation with him in a technical manner and answered his questions and executed his requests precisely.   Obviously keeping the focus narrow and on track will help to expedite a solution.
