Play List

I'm not able to receive anything on my play list from my dvr recorded shows on one of my HD box.  HD box is H21-100.  Why and what can I do?

First thing to try is resetting all of your DVRs and Receivers using the red button behind the front panel access card door.

Do you subscribed to Whole Home DVR service?

Did this ever work?

Who installed your Whole Home DVR equipment?

Thank you, I will try the reset button first.  I am subscribed to whole Home DVR service and the HD DVR is located in my living room and the other room that has the HD box is able to get what I record it's just the one in the kitchen that won't.  I just received this box in the kitchen a week ago which was switched out by a standard receiver.  Direct Tv did the install but again this is a new box.  I will try your suggestion with the reset and hopefully that will work!

Make sure the new receiver is configured for sharing.  With a new box, it may be necessary to do a red button reset on all of the receivers and DVR's so the system can configure itself.

I did notice that it did say no networking or something like that.  Thank you so much!  So I have to go to the DVR HD box and the other two HD boxes and do a reset?  Do I have to do anything with the standard receivers?  Or do I just worry about the HD boxes.  Thanks!

Just the HD boxes.  The SD don't participate in the Whole Home system, they simply read the satellite signals.

Great I will do just that when I get home and hopefully it works.  One more question, if it does work will it send all my dvr recordings to the new box and onto the playlist?

Yes, the list will appear on all of your HD boxes.

also make sure that your H21 receiver has a receiver DECA, without this adapter, your HD receiver won't be able to "join" the coax network

A DECA did come in the box but not sure where to connect.  That must be the problem why it's not networking because I did hit reset buttons and try troubleshooting but can't seem to network.  I will try connecting the DECA.  Thank you,

the receiver DECA connects directly to the HDDVR, then connect the satellite cable to the DECA and use the short ethernet jumper to connect the DECA to the TOP ethernet port on the HDDVR

Note that connecting the DECA module should be done with the receiver disconnected from AC power.  Or alternately disconnect and reconnect AC after it's installed.  This allows the DECA module to configure to the rest of the boxes in the system.

I'm attaching a schematic of a typical system showing the connection to the router.  It involves a coax cable run to the vicinity of your router, a BB module with power supply and a short Ethernet jumper connecting the BB to the router.  Do you have these items?

Yes, it was set-up on Saturday 09/24/11 by Direct tech.  It was working fine and now i don't no why i get a message no internet connection.  Should I unplug router from the outlet for 10 sec and try again.  I also hit the reset button but that didn't seem to work.

Thank You!

Did the failure of the Internet coincide with you getting the new receiver running?  Your system has likely gotten mis-configured with the new addition.  Reconfiguring is easy but it must be done in it's entirety and in the order listed.

First thing to try is resetting the DECA network....it must be done in this order. Before you begin, assure that DHCP is enabled on your router if your system is connected to the Internet.  This is essential.

1. Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver

2. Disconnect power from the DECA BB Adapter (black or white DECA BB box)

3. Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?

4. Disconnect then reconnect AC power on your home network gateway/router and modem.

5. Wait a few minutes for the router to reset

6. Re-power the DECA Broadband Adapter

7. Re-power the SWM Power Inserter.

8. Re-power each DVR and Receiver

Following that, press and hold the info button on one DVR, then select more system info. Scroll down and check that Internet is listed as connected.
