Do you have a Directv installed Whole Home system? Have you made any configuration changes, tried to share the network connection for example?
If not, try a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR and the receivers.

Yes to Directv installed Whole-Home DVR service.
No to any configuration changes.
No to any network connections sharing/changes.
D
id not help doing a reset on the DVR and on the receivers. Recorded shows pause every few seconds, for up to 5 seconds as the program appears to load. Acts like a buffering issue. Original formatting of the show trying to be watched does not matter.

Take a look at your power inserter. If it is wired in such a way that the streamed program travels through the power inserter on the way to the receiver that may be your problems (see pic on left). The cure for this problem involves rerouting the stream to bypass the power inserter (see pic on right).

My 10 day old installation is not like the image on the right. Who's responsibility is it to correct the pausing issue? Do I call Directv support?

I also have playback issues when trying to watch a recorded program on a second receiver. It's unwatchable because of jerky picture and sound. Do I also need a power inserter rewire? I have the new HR34-700 DVR.

You may have a totally different problem. There are any number of variables here, so best to start your own new thread using the "Create New Post" button on the main forum page. Your problem may very well be different from the original poster's. With a new thread you can provide more information about your equipment, location, and troubleshooting you've tried so far. And this forum software makes it difficult to track or respond to folks that add onto someone else's thread.

Yes, contact Directv and ask that they return and fix your problem. Better to not get into technical details on the phone, a simple it doesn't work, send help message is best. Get into the wiring problem with the tech.
