Playlist freezes up while scrolling down
I have WHDVR installed with a DECA. Everything was fine until last week and the playlist disapeared on the 2 non-DVR boxes. After a few resets a curse words the playlist came back but now when I scroll down it freezes and tries to refresh which never ends. I am new to Direct TV and am very frustrated with the WHDVR, to say the least. I have tried everything suggested in the posts Except Format the Main DVR.

Have you got an Ethernet cable connected to the HD DVR? If not, how is your system connected to your router?

I assume (and you should check) that the DECA module has an independent 19 volt power supply and is connected to your system vai a coax cable feeding from the main splitter. If so, have you done a power down reset? Not sure it will help but it can't hurt. Leave the DECA powered up as well as the main power inserter. Leave all coax connected. Disconnect AC power from all of the receivers, then reconnect them one at a time allowing each to boot up before proceeding.

I experienced this issue. I was unable to go down the playlist to choose a show to watchh. I did a software DL and it fixed it. Some people say that it is bad to do, but I have never had a problem with it. reset the receiver. Once the "Hello" screen appears, use your remote and press 0 2 4 6 8

Very bad advice.

If the receiver has been connected to a working dish for more than 24 hours or so, it will have the latest software it is authorized to have. Most likely problems 'fixed' by forcing a download are really fixed by the reset that occurs during the update attempt.

A recent Directv bulletin cautioned even installers and technicians from forcing software downloads. Here's the text.
"Never force a Software Download on a receiver that is already active. This can cause the software to roll back, especially during the periods that new software is being rolled out to specific areas. Rolling back the software can re‐introduce bugs, as well as cause recordings to be lost on DVRs. Only force software downloads on receivers that are going to be newly installed and activated in the customer’ home."
