Polk Signa 2 sound bar

I have set up my Polk Signa 2 sound bar and everything works fine.  However, I cannot get my Directv Genie to program for the sound.  I have tried the first two step of the automated suggestion but get a message Your Tv is connected to external speakers Adjust from remote device

Is there a solution to this problem>>
