It all depends on your demand. You can get a dish that looks for the satellites itself or a dish that sits on a tripod/sled (non-penetrating) mount and requires you to aim it. The Winegard Trav'ler would be a good option for modern HD viewing, especially due to the fact that it finds satellite 99, 101, and 103 by itself. If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can buy a DIRECTV SWM dish on a tripod or non-penetrating mount.

While you are at it, have handy some quad shield RG6 Cable, a 21V power inserter, level, and 1/2 inch wrench.

Just be sure to get a SWM dish that is capable of receiving the HD satellites. Going forward, DTV plans to get rid of all old MPEG2/SD channels on satellite 101, making those other in-motion and cheap self-aiming domes completely useless. (i.e. Winegard Carryout, King Quest, etc.)

The Winegard Travler is a SWM dish.

If you want all of the channels your only options are the Winegard Trav'ler DirecTV HD dish, or a standard DirecTV Slimline SWM dish on a tripod.
