power inserter

Courtesy of a teething puppy, the cord on my power inserter got chewed through (power plug cord). I called customer service to see about getting a new one. First, they tell me I need to pay $50 for a service call to get it installed. ???? It's screwing in two cables and plugging in a power cord! Then they say they don't even have these, I need to go to radio shack or best buy. I asked to speak to someone else, anmd now I'm on terminal hold. Please tell me - this thing says Directtv on it, was installed by directtv - do they really want me to go to Radio Shack?
