Programing series recordings

I  just started with the Genie DVR and am having strange things happen.  I left Spectrum  to go with Directv and had a list of series I need to setup to record on the Genie.  I did a search, found the a series I wanted and pressed 'record'. I then received an option to 'Record Future Series' or not. I selected the first.  When I look  in 'Recordings' / 'View Play List' / 'Recoding Manager' / 'Series Manager', I found I had 2 entries for each selected series, the second reading 'all channels'.  The first seems to be for the current seadon.   When I look in 'Recording History', I have a list of 'pending recording's that included all the previous episodes for each series that had an current episode being recorded.  I had to go thru and delete all the previous episodes for each series.  Now I am seeing that when a series starts to record an episode for the first time on this Genie, it does it again (lists all the old episodes).  Series that for which  I have cleaned out the previous episodes does not do it when the next episode record.  I just want the current and future episodes.  I have about 40 series setup and will have to go thru this clean out routine for each.  Any way to prevent the old episodes from listing?

Right, using search will record all channels and On Demand for that program that it is shown on. Delete all the search series and use the guide and press the record button twice to only record from that channel and time, if the series is in hiatus then you have to wait until it returns.
