Question of 'what hardware do i need'

I'm trying to determine exactly what outdoor hardware I need to receive the HD content I'm paying for. Basically the situation is this: I originally had a D10 receiver for several years using a Phase III dish. About a year ago I upgraded to a HD receiver. DTV sent me the receiver and after hooking it up, all appeared to be working. But, following these forums, I'm wondering whether I am actually receiving all the HD content available to me using the Phase III antenna. Should DTV have upgraded me to a Slimline or .... In my location, am I receiving everything I should be on just 101, 110, 119? My location is at least 200 miles from any major city. Should I have that MPEG adaptor thing attached to the receiver box?
