R22 100 DVR not working with new RF remote RC65RB

I cannot seem to get the RF remote to work with our R22 100 DVR.  We can get it to work as a direct line remote, but can't get the RF to work.  Not sure if we need something additional.  I don't see a jack on the back of the DVR so I assume we don't need an antenna???
