What DVR/Receiver model number?
You might have better luck using the "HDMI CEC" power control feature to synchronize the TV and DirecTV box power settings.

yes it was the hdmi cec on tv (UN43DU7200FXZA) had to turn it off. now rc73 remote works . thanks

If the remote codes are not working then your alternative is to use HDMI CEC control on both the C61K and your TV to synchronize power on/off.
