RC72 Remote Control pair to Sound Bar Power On/Off
Do you have to use an HDMI ARC cable to have the DTV remote control, control the power on/off for a insignia sound bar? Reason, mine will not do it by doing the setup through DTV menu area. It will control the audio of the sound bar but, not the power on/off. Anyone know? Thanks!

None of the RC7X remotes have the codes to turn on/off any soundbars/A/V receivers, HDMI-CEC does that. AFAIK a regular HDMI cable will do that.

So the DTV remote control cannot turn it on or off no matter what? Or are you saying an HDMI cable will allow the DTV remote control to do this? Not really clear to me on what you wrote. Thanks!

The receiver sends a signal over the HDMI cable to turn on/off any devices that also has HDMI-CEC, DTV calls it HDMI control other manufactures call it other things. It is under Settings&Help>Display>Video> HDMI control to on at least that is what I did on my HR24.
