RC73 DTV remote not working at all.

Remote was working except for fast forward/backward and pause. I wrongly programmed an option to AV1 or AV2. NOW buttons work on the remote. How do I re-program? We have a new LG tv, model #43UP7670PUC.  Please help.

Hello @2golf! We are happy to help with your DIRECTV remote concern.

If your remote is not responding, changing channels or adjusting the volume, make sure you have direct line of sight to the receiver.

To program your remote, you may want to:

  1. Point the remote at your Genie HD DVR, Genie Mini, or Wireless Genie Mini.
  2. Press and hold the MUTE and ENTER buttons. Stop when the green light at the top of the remote blinks twice.
  3. When the TV screen displays Applying IR/RF setup, you are in RF mode and ready to program the remote.
  4. Power on the device you want your remote to control.

You may also want to pair the remote

Unfortunate, the steps you suggest didn’t set up the remote. When I entered mute, enter, the green light blinked twice but the next steps didn’t do anything and remote still doesn’t work.

Hello @2golf! Thank you for reaching back out.

In our last post, we attached two articles that showed the complete steps of programming your remote. You may also ensure that your batteries are changed, try using new batteries.

Also, resetting your receiver by using the red button helps.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

@2golf make sure you're hitting mute and ENTER, not mute and select,  enter is under the number 9
