RC73 Remote Enter (Input) mini guide won't go away
After changing batteries on my RC73 remote the Enter/Input button displayed the mini guide, even if I tried to press and hold (per the remote instruction guide). As a result there was no way to access the Input menu to change from HDMI1 to HDMI2 or other options. After multiple receiver and remote resets and close to an hour on the internet, I called DTV customer support. The automated chatbot couldn't comprehend the issue (magic word=representative) but Cherry finally picked up the call and after 10 minutes of verification reset my remote options for me.
My question is this: is there a way I can reset the option on a RC73 remote myself to make mini guide go away and restore the Input dropdown menu without having to light a half hour of my life on fire calling a representative?

"How to program a remote" seems to be the standard first reply in this Forum regardless of actual issue, and as with most posts it is unrelated to the actual difficulty. I suspect a poorly programmed chat bot is behind this unhelpful response.
Again, the problem was that mini guide wouldn't go away, even when press+holding the Enter/Input button, and no amount of random or even purposeful button mashing corrected this issue.
So to repeat: is there a way for me the user to reset the option on a RC73 remote myself to make mini guide go away and restore the Input dropdown menu without having to call customer support? Your customer support representative seemed to think not.
Please include "mini guide" or "Input menu" in the text of any future responses. Thanks.

All that the CSRs can do is refresh the receiver authorizations and I doubt that fixed the problem, doing a red button reset may. This is a customer to customer forum and we don't need any chat bots.

Hi shannon02. Thanks for the post. I had done two red button resets prior to calling so no luck there. However, my CSR on the phone call (Cherry) was able to correct the issue so perhaps refreshing the receiver authorizations worked after all.
That said, the first forum reply was from "Faith, AT&T Community specialist" with an indication that "Faith" is an AT&T employee, hence my confusion about this being "a customer to customer forum." Since that reply was unrelated to the actual issue it seemed typical of a bot response. I absolutely agree with you that this forum doesn't need chat bots.

Hey @Rdub1 thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Refreshing the receiver can fix common problems.
Let's try to reboot your receiver by:
Also you can try to unpair and pair the remote control.
Please let us know if you need additional help.

AFAIK refreshing the receivers is an internal DTV computer refresh that does nothing to the receiver.
