Receiver and remote

My remote would not turn on my receiver this morning so I tried to turn it on manually and it still didn't work.I unplugged my receiver and finally got it to work but the manual controls still do not work.I can't turn it off or get the menu to come up.

I am still not getting anything from my remote and I've tried switching the batteries. Got any ideas?
