Receiver doesn't work.

I have a receiver at my camp and has not been turned on for about a month. This isn't the first time this have happened. I usually call and have it turned on, but the last time they said that I can do it online. I am home and my son is at the camp and I need help.

No, you need to call to activate equipment that's been inactive for a while.

If your receiver is active already, all you have to do is log into your directv account and then click on this link. It will reauthorize your receiver www.directv.com/resend  Like I said, it already has to be activated, and this will just reauthorize it.

What you see as a problem is actually built in to the system intentionally.  At varying intervals, Directv sends a satellite signal to all authorized receivers that are in good standing.  Those not in good standing don't get the signal and are rendered inoperative.  Your receiver at camp must be powered down when you aren't there so it doesn't get the signal.  If you leave it connected and powered on, it will always be ready to go, no more "won't work" problems.
