Receiver giving blank screen and Receiver not turning off or responding to remote control comands

We have a standard receiver in our bedroom and is giving a blank white screen on the TV. When I preform a system reboot on the receiver it goes through everything and when it is done checking the satellite it freezes to a white screen. The receiver will not manually turn off by the power button. It also does not respond to any of the remote control commands. We have another standard receiver in our living room and it is working fine. Any thoughts on what could be going on? We have only had the receiver for 3 weeks.
