Receiver wont allow remote to work

I have the old receiver and remote. Had it for about 8 years. Everthing worked fine when I went to bed last night and this morning, the remotes will not work with the receiver. I have a couple receivers with remotes in my home and the remotes work with all receivers, but none of the remotes will work with my reciever. I can change channels with the buttons on receiver and I have reset the receiver several times. Any other suggestions?
