Recording shows on channels not in our package

The Series Manager is good, all options for All new Episodes are good, correct channel selected is all good, DVR has been disconnected and reset....now the frustration! The shows do record however not on the channel in our zone, it will still record on a different zone channel. Frustrated more - when we use the streaming part it will not allow us to watch our show DiectTV messed up, it redirects us to the other zone channel and gives error code 721....We are busy people and hard to babysit the purpose of setting up the DVR for each show.

Hi @cmhasse, we are here to help.

Let us understand the situation. You set up the DVR to record a show in your specific time zone, but it isn't recording because the receiver is reflecting a different time zone. Is that correct?

Let us know and we will continue working on it.

That is correct, it records the show on a different time zone channel.  The worst part is we can't watch it when we go to the channel carrier it's on to watch it. When we try it reverts the show to West coast channel we don't have. This happens most frequently on CBS, it records on channel 391 instead of channel 2. When we go to CBS streaming option of missed shows for channel 1002 it reverts back to channel 391 for some reason again. Very frustrating!

@cmhasse are you setting up the recording from a search (for the show) or directly from your channel 2?

Directly from channel 2 but it records on a different channel that we do not have.

The answer is both for CBS- it records a different channel that is not part of our package. Then we go to our channel 1002 to watch a show we missed and when our show is selected it will not allow us to watch under channel 1002, it redirects automatically to channel 391 which we get error code 721. Very frustrating with these technicalities....

Only on our direct TV reciever using the series manager recording options. I've tried only new shows or all show options, it still records the incorrect channel we do not have. On the same direct TV receiver it will still not let us find the show we missed to stream or watch it. Instead of remaining on CBS's 1002 channel it goes to channel 391 instead which we don't have.

It appears that the DVR is recording the DNS channels instead of the locals.

Yeah, Paramount/CBS is messing up by the numbers! "Remote recording" yellowstone, claws, added as #101 & 102 to series mgr, despite constant canceling/deleting AND deleting all stored programs in the process.
NOT a happy subscriber!

Hi, @Furbicat, thank you for bringing that to our attention

You can try these useful steps:

- Set the series up to record on just one channel instead of setting it up on “all channels".
- Press LIST to go to your DVR list and then arrow up to Recording Manager.
- Then highlight Series Manager and press SELECT.

Let us know how it goes.

This problem with CBS has been reported before but seemed to have been fixed, obviously not.

Mayra - the instructions you gave to defer all channels status to the actual channel will not work. It will not specify the actual show, only the channel and time frame, please advise to get the correct channel to record the correct show

It seems this is actually a CBS problem, they are setting up their channel IDs incorrectly. Nothing you  can do to fix it.

I was told by a rep tonight that there  are a list of channels in the DirecTV guide that will not allow a user to record them. This also includes using the<< buttons to start a show from the beginning.

My receiver will go live for six minutes and then tell me that DirecTV has encounyered a problem and cannot show this program. Is there such a list of channel providers?
