Relocating DECA to new router location.

Okay so I think I knowhow to make this happen. RIght now I have my internet router in my guest bedroom closet and I am moving it to my master bedroom closet. Hoever the DECA for whole home DVR (black one) is connected to the router in the guest bedroom. My question is: When I relocate the DECA to the new router location, can I split the cable going to my HD receiver in the master bedroom with a Directv MRV SWiM 2-way splitter and use one of the lines for the DECA & the other right back into the HD Receiver? Or will it have to be a dedicated line from the main splitter at the box outside? From what I have found within these forums and on the internet, it sounds like I can do that.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You have it right.  Be sure to disconnect any unused coax from the splitter and cap the unused output with a 75 ohm terminator cap (the ones that come on the splitter).
