remote code for Insignia TV

We have a 22" Insignia LCD HDTV, model #NS-22E455C11. We can't get the DirecTV remote to turn it off, either in DirecTV or TV mode, though volume control works. We have gone through all listed codes and tried to cycle through codes using the 9911 option listed in the remote programming instructions. (While cycling through codes using the Channel up-down button, instead of turning the TV off, the input option on the TV changed from HDM1 to TV.)

Does anyone have a suggestion? Any other codes to try? A list of TVs the remote won't work for?
