Remote control buttons do not respond
Pressing many of the buttons does not work easily. Some buttons work by pressing on one side, others with a lateral motion while pressing down. Even number buttons have some difficulty even though not frequently used in the past. Remote is the original.k

We're happy to help, @Bobkeloic.
It seems that it might be time for a replacement. You can easily order a new remote directly from our website or by signing into myAT&T. If you need help placing the order, just let us know.

I've seen that several times with my remotes... it seems that they are made out of something that will degrade inside - maybe the rubber of the contacts, or the film on the PCB or a combination of everything but when I open one of these, it looks like something has spilled inside.
I usually clean up with isopropyl alcohol, wash with dish soap the rubber that contains the buttons and usually works alright.
Then, after 2 or 3 years, it happens again and one of the buttons stops responding, that's when I usually order a replacement - last time I got a 2-package.
To open it, pry it the round cover on top to expose and remove four screws.
Take the batteries cover and batteries off to find two smaller screws.
Now comes the harder part that is to separate the top from the bottom... use a very flat screwdriver or even a kitchen knife.
Once you separate them, clean up the rubber buttons and the PCB.
If you don't have isopropyl alcohol you can use regular rubbing alcohol
or last resource, wash with dish detergent and warm water.
Then dry it all thoroughly, use a hair drier and leave in the sunshine for an hour or so in case you used water.
Finally put it all together in the reverse order... will be good for the 2-3 years.
