remote

We currently do not have the universal remote.  Our current remote needs to be replaced, can we use the universal remote direct offers with the satellite dish?

Thank you

Any DTV remote will operate any DTV receiver in IR.

almost.... there is no app button on the older remotes, so I don't think the Gemini specifically can be operated by any remote. Perhaps some other button will work.

AFAIK it will still control a Gemini without access to the apps until the new remote arrives.

Agreed, just covering the fine details.

When I went to a universal remote (Logitech, and Sofabaton), I "learned" the IR commands from the existing remote, from my old DVR up to and including my Gemini (in IR mode)... looks like the basic commands are all the same for all these years.

Yes, DTV has used the same codes for all their receivers since they started, they have just changed how they send them to the receiver IR, RF/BT.
