Replacement receiver problem

Here's what's going on:

1. I replaced my receiver model H21-100 and just got the replacement  H21-200

2. I use DirecTV remote control model RC32RF since the receiver is in the garage and TV is in the bedroom above (that's the way my wife wants it).

3. I connected everything exactly as it was with the former receiver, but the new one doesn't accept a signal from the remote.

What did do wrong, and how do I fix it?  Thanks.
