Requirements to receive programing in Alaska

We have a motor home and travel around the country using a portable 5lnb dish hooked to a HD dvr. I have no problem getting signal in the continental US but next summer we are going to Alaska and when we were there in 2007 we could not receive signal(using a none HD system and a 20" dish). I have read that using a 1.2 meter dish I can receive signal in Alaska. I have several questions?

1. I know Fairbanks has a elevation of something like 8 degrees. Can the 1.2 meter dish be set that low.

2. Will I be able to get HD. This is not a big issue just a question

3. Where do I get info on 1.2 meter dishes and cost

Thank You

Jerry
