reset receiver and remote still won't work

I reset my receiver 2 times and it's now unfrozen. I guess I read too many posts on here and tried to re-program my remote and now it doesn't work. Lights flashed on the remote when I tried to do what the tech support on the phone told me to. She said she would send my problem on to the engineering dept. last night. She said I should keep trying and eventually it should work. STILL NOTHING. What do I do? How do I get a remote from another room to work on this receiver?
