Retaining use of recorded programs on 'old' receiver when 'new' reciver used .

When replacing receivers, and the 'new 'receiver is registered, can one use the 'old' receiver to just play recorded already programs (not to receive or record programming ).

Maybe by attaching both to TV with an A/B switch.

Sorry, no. Recordings are encrypted to the DVR that recorded them. Once that DVR is deactivated from your account you can no longer access them. And they can't be transferred to a new DVR.

A/B switch? that changes the antenna input that only SD receivers use. If that is what you have then you need the SD to HD swap offer to keep your local channels.
