Return DTV box

I have a DirecTV box from a closed account that's at least 15 years old, and I wasn't sure if you take take these back or should I just recycle it. Please let me know.

The Model # is DRD225RD and the

Serial #944527184.

Thank you.

They definitely don’t want those back. You can recycle it or do whatever you want to it.

That model says it is an RCA box. Those were already legacy about 15 years ago. Box is overdue to be recycled.

Normally if you still have the access card you securely dispose of it like a credit card, but that may not matter anymore as everything has been superseded.

DirecTV stopped having each manufacture do their own design and just have each of them do it to the same specs long ago. DirecTV stopped offering SD-only service in late 2015 and in 2019 started the shutdown of the SD-only feeds (a bit delayed with everything that happened in the last few years). So that RCA box is DirecTV's dinosaur.

As a suggestion, never post serial number as that is unique to your own product. Model is fine as many can have the same one, but serial/ID number is yours and yours alone.
