Satellite Dish ground wire improperly installed by DirecTV

The "green wire to ground" between the outdoor satellite antenna/dish and ground was not properly installed. The DirecTV tech used the natural gas pipe as the path to ground. I am not a telecommunications installation technician, I do not believe using a natural gas pipe would be considered proper.

Recently, the natural gas company upgrade the meter. At that time they cut the ground wire.

This issue is for a residential DirecTV installation that is about 5 years old and was recently upgrade to 4K about 1 year ago. During the 4K upgrade the tech has to re-aim satellite dish due to previously low quality work.

If this is an issue, how do I request that this be repaired by AT&T?

@Constructive My understanding is that the proper way to do it would be to use or install a copper rod that is embedded several feet into the ground (I believe that AT&T has a best practice of 6' deep).

The electrical panel is on the opposite side the wall. The power meter is less than 10' away.

It is my believe that AT&T should repair this installation free of charge. I believe they did not follow their own installation practices.

At&t and directv are not allowed to drive ground rods they haven’t been allowed to for at least 15 years.

Any ground rods would have to be bonded to the electrical panel.
