Satellite not picking up channels, not searching for signal
I'm having issues with my DTV satellite. When I power on the receiver, it just goes to a gray screen and does not say that it is searching for a signal or anything. I'm wondering what could be the problem? The satellite has not been moved, and the coax running to the receiver is untampered with.

how is your receiver connected to your TV? are you sure that you are on the right TV input?

You might also try resetting the Receiver by pushing the red reset button on the side of the H25.

I have been having the same issue but my receiver is HR24/500 model. It started with the grey screen this morning and would flash searching for signal 771. For a while it wouldn't even let me bring the guide up (acquiring data). I tried the reset thing, unplugged it for a few seconds, checked cables, dish position (on house with nothing in the way) and we have not had bad weather in my area. I made a thread of my own but am really hoping for some answers so I will post anywhere relevant. My readings under satellite signal read:
satellite transponders (32 of 101)
1-8 55 55 60 0 53 63 57 64
9-16 51 56 57 0 54 65 50 66
17-24 51 28 57 36 55 69 55 66
25-32 57 46 56 0 59 66 47 72
bout the same readings on tuner 1 and tuner 2. Help!!

your dish is out of alignment. best to call DTV and request a service visit. free with the protection plan otherwise $50.00
Best to start your own new thread using the "Create New Post" button on the main forum page. Your problem may very well be different from the original poster's. With a new thread you can provide more information about your equipment, location, and troubleshooting you've tried so far. And this forum software makes it difficult to track or respond to folks that add onto someone else's thread.

the tv is sayin not subscribed.press select 721 receiver:0294 3732 card 001-8032-7281 I paid the bill about 1hrs ago

It will take a lot longer than an hour for the system handling the authorization for programs to get info from the accounting system. I don't know how the DirecTV systems work but I suspect the accounting department has to release the "hold" on your DirecTV service, and I assume accounting only works normal business hours.
