Satellite Signal Strength After Initial Install
So I just had my install yesterday, nice guy things seem to go well. He tests everything and it looks amazing.
10 minutes after he leaves I get the (771 signal search) thing for like 20 minutes straight. I reset it as the book states with the red button. Still doing it.
I eventually walk away in disgust for like 10 minutes since this is what I was afraid of living in Florida and these outages.
Well it comes back and then blinks off again. I do the system test and Im getting 96-97% signal strength. I then do a test and get this diagnostic type thing saying the satellite may not be positioned correctly and needs to be adjusted?
Is this something I can do or call them and complain as a brand new dish and customer, Im very annoyed already this has happened. Bad install or just freak occurrence?
Rest of the night (about 3 hours) it worked perfectly fine after...
Thanks for any help or advice in advance. 😃

The model number is located inside the card door flap, or you can press and hold the info button. Knowing what receiver you have is essential in giving you correct information. Assuming it's HD, then try this: "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength". Note the "+" and "-" symbols next to the "Satellite" and "Tuner" entries where you can toggle the readings between the various satellites. Use the plus button to go to the 99c satellite. All of the signals should be a minimum of 85. If you have a DVR, use the tuner + and - to go to each of the two tuners. If not, call Directv and have them return and correct the problem.

Thank you for your help.
I have a HR24/100.
Today knock on wood has been no problem and the picture looks amazing. I will return to this though if I run into any other problems.
Thank you for your help

What about the weather? A heavy rain or very heavy cloud cover can block the satellite signals for a little while. Even if it wasn't raining directly on your location, heavy clouds to the South could have affected signal for a short time. I know you know that these quick, yet severe, storms pop up all the time in Fla.
