Screen goes black if I try to rewind or if I change the channel more than 3 times. I can still hear hear the program

I have a Genie DVR with whole home coverage. If you change channel more than about 3 times or try to go back on a program. Screen will go black. You still have sound and it will display info but no picture. Also it wont recognize any of the other receivers in other rooms The only way i can get it to come back is to restart the whole system. Even then the only receiver that works is the main one.
