Screen Item Off Left Side

I noticed an odd thing with my picture Sunday.

I was watching football. The network (Fox television service), as anyone who watches football can see, displays the score and other pertinent game information in an object in the upper left side of the screen. Last Sunday this object (for lack of a better term) was half off the screen. Only half was being displayed. I tried adjusting my tv's horizontal position and it didn't work. I changed to all the diffrent Aspects (side bar, zoom, etc.) of the tv and it did no good. My father, who gets regular cable and not Directv did not have the issue.

I called Directv support and he said it must be an issue with the network itself. Why didn't my father have the issue??

Can anyone expalin what might have caused this? Am I to expect this again Sunday? This is the first time this has occured.
