Screen Saver comes on, DVR unresponsive

Anyone,

My mom has a new HD DVR from DirecTV and has an issue, which is:

She pauses live TV, after a while the screen saver comes on - normal, she goes to press play or pause to "wake up" the dvr and nothing happens. 

She has to turn off the DVR and back on to use it again.

I have to HD DVR's at home and don't think I have this problem, though I will test it. I'm having her reset the DVR (red button) to see if that helps.

Any ideas? This happen to anyone?
